HZP

Retuning music, live, in the car

A patented audio player that shifts any track to the exact tuning frequency you want to hear — in real time, on your phone, on your desktop, and on the dashboard.

  • CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Driver system-wide on Windows

Most music is tuned to one reference pitch. HZP hands that decision back to the listener — retuning any track, as it plays, to whatever frequency they actually want to hear. The technique is patented; the engineering challenge is doing it without latency, artefacts or drift.

On mobile it is a full player on iOS and Android. In the car it becomes something stricter: CarPlay and Android Auto do not let an app draw whatever it likes, and for good reason. Automotive interfaces are built from a fixed set of manufacturer-supplied templates, with hard rules about interaction depth and driver attention. The entire browsing and playback experience had to be redesigned to fit inside that vocabulary — the same product, expressed in a language the dashboard permits.

On Windows it goes deeper still. Rather than retuning only what plays inside the app, HZP ships an audio device driver that places the processing into the system’s own audio path, so the effect applies to whatever the machine is playing.

Three very different runtimes — a phone, a car, an operating system’s audio stack — carrying one piece of signal processing.
